TUKWILA, WA temporary installation Connections 2002

In
Connections, an installation at the Sound Transit Tukwila station, the physical space defines passengers transition through ramps and platforms. As they pass through this physical space they also transit the images of other commuters through time. Tukwila has been a connecting point from early times through the present.

In these images we explore connections in the context of transportation, commuters, maps and people. The set of panels installed on the fencing and in the shelters provide a spatial and temporal experience for travelers on the ramps, platforms and trains.

We silk-screened images of these commuters over time and space on recycled airplane construction material, and adapted studio techniques for this installation. Discovering these connections both delighted and enriched us.
